The District Chief Executive for Bongo in the upper east region Peter Ayamga Ayinbisa has said women will have a better opportunities under the government programme ‘ one village one dam’

He said agriculture in his district is not only preserve for the men, but women also perform well in the profession.

He stated:

‘Even though we have not had any land that is reserve only for women, opportunities have been created under the flagship programme for women to go into extensive farming’.

Ten women groups had been provided by the community to access financial assistance from MASLOC. Mr. Ayamga stated that ghc54000 had been set aside for women with disabilities in the area.

He urged the district to be patience with the assembly , and that the government is  doing everything within means to meet the social needs of the district.
