Executive producer and manager of Patience Nyarko has stated categorically that, his artiste; Patience Nayarko’s song; ‘Obi Nyanime’ is underrated to be classified as a hit song rather, it’s a blast.
Mr Kumi made this claim on Entertainment Review on Peace FM today when he was interviewed by Akwesi Aboagye. He refused to state the number of CDs sold but testify that, the impact of the song and sale is beyond imagination. He has never be in debt for any production made so far.
Obi Nyanime has crossed continents; it can be found in every corner in the world where Ghanaians reside. It has sustained its relevance, and has remained on music charts till date though it was released in 2017.
“When a song hits, it takes time for the returns to reflects. Secondly, it’s not the money and properties that comes out of it that we focus much on. When your song doesn’t hit, it is painful than not to gain anything from a hit song. The essence is, the children of God receive salvation..” He stressed.
On issue of endorsement deals, he couldn’t emphasis that, it is a major problem. To him, the secular artistes are not better than the gospel artiste; but might be due to the targeted audience of these companies but acknowledged that, the gospel artistes should also be considered, and taken as brand ambassadors for various products and/or companies.
He refuted the assumption that, artiste and manager sexual relationship can better enhance the performance of artiste as claimed by other managers. Rather, transparency between the two is the ultimate.
Patience Nyarko is currently on a tour in USA and is expected to return to the country in October. She is looking forward to tour UK, Europe and Canada.
She has been nominated in 6 categories in this year’s Ghana UK Music Awards including the Artiste of the Year and Song of the year! She is the only artiste managed by Mr. Kumi.
